Santa Eulàlia d’Erill-la-Vall, Vall de Boí

Santa Eulàlia d’Erill-la-Vall means Santa Eulalia Erill-the-Valley in English.

The really small village Erill la Vall is a picturesque place filled with traditional houses, built in the local style of architecture, which uses materials such as wood, stone, and slate.

It’s better to read this booklet than my explanation.

I went up the bell tower of the Church of Santa Eulalia afterwards.

Saint Eulalia (c. 290–12 February 303) was a 13-year-old Roman Christian virgin who suffered martyrdom in Barcelona during the persecution of Christians in the reign of emperor Diocletian.

For refusing to recant her Christianity, the Romans subjected her to thirteen tortures and finally decapitation.

There is the coffin of Saint Eulalia in the big church of Barcelona. Would she expect such a luxurious coffin?
