Margaret Island is a 2.5 km long island, 500 metres wide, in the middle of the Danube in central Budapest. The island is mostly covered by landscape parks, and is a popular recreational area.

Elisabeth Bridge (longest span 290 m) is the third newest bridge of Budapest, connecting Buda and Pest across the Danube. It is named after Elisabeth of Bavaria, a popular queen and empress of Austria-Hungary, who was assassinated in 1898.
