Tokaj is located along the Bodog River in the basin of the Tisza River.

We are going in the town center of Tokaj. This town seems to be a calm country town.

Tokaj is a historical town in Borsod-Abaúj-Zemplén county, Northern Hungary. It is the centre of the Tokaj-Hegyalja wine district where Tokaji wine is produced. The town has a population of 4419 inhabitants in the 2015 census.

The Heart of Jesus Church Tokaj is a Roman Catholic parish church rebuilt 20th-century in neo-Romanesque style.

Rakoczi Wine Cellar in Tokaj

The Rakoczi wine cellar is also on the Kossuth Lajos Square. You can taste in this wine cellar. Since there is a tour course, we enter the seller.  A young lady take us to the underground.

The wine cellar was built in the 15th century: The entrance to the wine cellar. Tasting room. Going down into the deeper cave. 28 meters length storage cavern.

When we leave the wine cellar, memorial photograph of the wedding ceremony is carried out in front of the church.

After the wine cellar, I am strolling through the Rakoczi street. It is fine and a comfortable walk.

Francis Rakoczi II (1676 – 1735) was a Hungarian nobleman and leader of the Hungarian uprising against the Habsburgs in 1703-11 as the prince of the Estates Confederated for Liberty of the Kingdom of Hungary. He was also Prince of Transylvania, an Imperial Prince, and a member of the Order of the Golden Fleece. Today he is considered a national hero in Hungary.
