We take a rest a little in the village of Balatongyörök on the way to Hévíz from Herend.
Located on the north shore of Lake Balaton, Balatongyörök is a really small village in Zala County, Hungary. The village has a population of 1030 inhabitants (in 2015 census) and nestle in the Hungary Balaton Uplands National Park.
As it is fine, we are walking around in the park.
The Roman spring is located in the park of Szépkilátó by the foot of the stone stairway, which was renovated by the Association for Youth in Balatongyöröki in 2009.
The spring is a part of the old Roman villa which was built in the 3rd – 4th century. The edifice with its length 15 m and width 12 m comprised five rooms, each fitted with floor-heating provided by the bath water from the spring.
After the Roman spring we are leaving the village of Balatongyörök for the town of Hévíz.
