Funes is a comune (municipality) in South Tyrol in northern Italy, located about 30 kilometres northeast of the city of Bolzano. It has a population of 2,552 and an area of 81.2 square kilometres.

The municipality of Funes contains the villages of St. Jakob, St. Magdalena, St. Peter, St. Valentin and Teis. Funes focuses on environmentally friendly and the main industry is tourism.

San Pietro is the capital of the municipality of Funes in South Tyrol Italy. It is located at an altitude of 1150 m above sea level, approximately in the middle of Villnößtales (Val Di Funes) and is the starting point of many hiking trails.

The Apostles Peter and Paul parish church was built in the late 18th century and consecrated in 1,801. The bell tower with the onion-shaped dome was built 1897th It is 65m in high.

San Pietro is very quiet and beautiful village. Unfortunately weather was bad.
