There are about 88 elephants under protection, including 37 males and 51 females.
The orphanage was established to feed, nurse and house young elephants found abandoned by their mothers. Young elephants sometimes fall into pits and ravines in their quest for water during drought period.

Gone out the Elephant Orphanage, through the narrow street, headed for the Maha Oya river, where elephants are enjoying bathing.
This street is called “To Elephant Bathing Position.” Again, foreigners have to pay the entrance fee.
Found a strange shop on the street. It seems to be the paper industry.
