On the way, I found a rord side coconut vendor stall and had the coconut juice. It was very good. The price was just 50 Sri Lanka Rupee (＄0.4).
I dropped in at the Kurunegala Town on the way to Anuradhapura. Kurunegala is a busy market town and transport hub between Colombo and Anuradhapura. The population of Kurunegala is 30,315 (2011).
Kurunegala is a major city in Sri Lanka. It is the capital city of the Kurunegala Distric. Kurunegala was also an ancient royal capital for 50 years, from the end of the 13th century to the start of the 14th century.
Located at an altitude of 116 meters above sea level, Kurunegala is surrounded by coconut plantations and rubber estates. There are eight very noticeable large rocks that encircle and dominate the city.
There are many temples of various denominations in this town.
I took some pictures of Kurunegala Lake finally, and left the town.
