The Cathedral, Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Santiago de Compostela, is in the World Heritage Site in Galicia. According to legend, the cathedral is the reputed burial-place of Saint James the Great, one of the apostles of Jesus Christ. The construction of the Cathedral started in 1075 and was completed in 1211.
Went up through the narrow stone path and stairs behind the altar, there’s a small window, I embraced the image of St. James. Then I went to underground, the cemetery of the Saint.
After that, I went for a walk on the roof of the cathedral.
The roof of the Cathedral of Compostela was made of terraced granite, since the origins of the building. It was accessed through the towers of the medieval façade of Maestro Mateo.
