Fromista Castile Spain

Frómista is a municipality located in the province of Palencia, Castile and León. According to the 2009 census, the municipality has a population of 822 inhabitants.

The Church of Santa María del Castillo is located on the Plaza Castillo, where there was a castle in the Middle Ages.  It has been declared a National Historic Landmark, currently it is not used for worship.

The highlights of the church are the high bell tower and the Renaissance façade. Plaza de Tuy Fromista (Square of Tui); The Plaza de Tuy is the main town of Frómista. There are a parish church of San Pedro, the city hall and a statue of San Telmo in the square. Fromista and Tuy are twin towns and have the common patron saint of San Telmo.

San Telmo (Pedro González Telmo, Saint Elmo. 1190 in Frómista - 1246 in Tuy) was a Spanish Dominican friar and priest, in Spain and Portugal worked as a missionary of the sailors.

The City Hall of Frómista is in the Plaza de Tuy, just behind the Church of San Pedro. It is two stories house with brick façade, has the municipal shield and the clock on the wall.
