Coll is a small village belonging to the municipality of Valle de Boi in the province of Lleida, Catalonia.
Coll has 42 habitants and it is located to 1,164m above sea level.
I walked to the church through the small village and saw it in the distance shortly.
Santa Maria de l’Assumpció de Cóll. (St. Mary of the Assumption of Coll)
Just outside the village of Cóll, surrounded by the old graveyard is Santa Maria de l’Assumpció, the southernmost church of the valley. The single nave church with its large apse dates to the 12th century.
Here the chrismon (Chi Rho), that crowns archivolts of the portal. The carving seems to be incomplete. It may be placed here later.
When I visited this church it was closed the door. This parish church is for villagers not for tourists. So I was not able to enter this church. (I took the upper photograph in the Episcopal Museum of Vic.)
I left this church and went down the mountain path to bus stop on the road L-500, and then went to next destination, Barbastro.
