Tatranská Lomnica is a town in the Slovakian part of the High Tatras mountains.
Tatranská Lomnica railway station is a terminal station of the Tatra Electric Railway, which connects the town to Starý Smokovec.
After the World War 2 Tatranská Lomnica became an important international tourist and recreational centre.
Tatranská Lomnica is a skiing and hiking resort and the best known for its cable car to Lomnický štít, one of the steepest in Europe and remarkable for its lack of support pylons between the two stations.
Lomnický štít (peak) is the most beautiful and most visited mountain peaks in the High Tatras Mountains of Slovakia. Its summit is 2634 metres above sea level, making it the second highest peak in the High Tatras after Gerlachovský štít. In the past, Lomnický štít was called Dedo (“Grandpa”).
I headed to the cable car station to go up Lomnický štít.
I ride in the cable car at 9:15, started for the 2634m summit.
