I took a walk in the town of Shaki in the moning. The greens in the town were clean.
Visited Sheki Khan Palace on that day.
Sheki Khan Palace was constructed in 1761-1762 as a summer residence of Hussein-khan Mushtad Who was a grandson of Gadzhi Chelebi. The unique beauty two-storied building of the palace amazes with its magnificent interior and exterior.
Photography is prohibited in the palace. The following photographs are from the net and the photo-book of the palace.
Muhammed Huseyn Khan is also known as a poet under the pen-name of Mushtag. According some sources, this palace is referred as the Mushtag Mansion.
Once there was water rushing down through the area producing natural springs that would have made these fountains run naturally.
In the center of the palace is a huge stained-glass window from a multi-colored glass mosaic.
The walls of the palace are richly painted with anecdotal drawings displaying scenes of hunting and war as well as intricate geometrical and vegetative patterns.
As a visitor walks in the rooms of the palace, he starts to feel himself in fairy tale by enjoying its unique environment.
Once great Turkish poet Nazim Hikmat visited this palace and said “If Azerbaijan would not have other ancient building, it could be enough to speak only about the Sheki Khans’ palace”.
